Statement regarding an incident at Great Central Railway (Nottingham)
On Friday evening, a private charter train operating on the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) was involved in a low-speed partial derailment at our Ruddington Fields station.
The incident occurred as the train was travelling over a set of points at approximately 10mph, resulting in the wheels of the locomotive and the front carriage leaving the track.
No one was injured, and all passengers were safely evacuated from the train. Passengers praised the efforts of the railway's volunteers for the way they handled the situation.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) and Office of Rail and Road (ORR) have been informed of the incident, and Great Central Railway (Nottingham) will carry out an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the derailment.

I'd like to thank our volunteers who ensured the incident was handled professionally and our passengers who were very understanding given the circumstances"
