Scotsman Hits the Rails

Flying Scotsman Takes the Rails This Bank Holiday Weekend

For the past weeks, visitors to the Great Central Railway Nottingham have had the rare privilege of getting up close and personal with one of the most iconic locomotives in the world. Flying Scotsman has been resting in the station in all her glory, offering footplate visits and giving guests the chance to truly appreciate the sheer scale and beauty of this living legend — whilst fellow steam icon Tornado has been doing what she does best, hauling our trains in spectacular fashion.

This weekend, everything changes.

In a moment rail enthusiasts won't want to miss, the two locomotives are swapping roles. Tornado takes her turn in the spotlight, stepping off the mainline and into the station for your chance to get up close, whilst Flying Scotsman fires up and takes to the rails — hauling our trains this Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

Watching Flying Scotsman working hard under steam is something truly special. The sight, the sound, and the smell of this legendary LNER Pacific in full flight is an experience that stays with you forever.

This is a bank holiday weekend you simply do not want to miss.

Dates: Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th & Monday 26th May

Book your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
