Our brand new locomotive servicing facility is almost finished with concrete being poured around the new pit.
This will give crews servicing machines plenty of level space to work on. The pit itself is state of the art, complete with air, water and power and long enough to prepare and clean the largest steam locomotives which might visit from the main line. To everyone who helped fund it, thank you. In due course we will be installing commemorative bricks.
The whole facility, including the revamped and rewired running shed will be put through its paces in May 2026 with the arrival of the world's most famous steam locomotive Flying Scotsman and 100 mph A1 Peppercorn Pacific Tornado for an exciting visit.
