CONSULTATION EVENT. SUNDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER 2025
Great Central Railway (Nottingham) Limited cordially invites you to a public consultation event at East Leake village hall on Sunday 7 September 2025 between 10am and 4pm, with 30 minute presentations at 11am and 3pm.
Come along to find out about our proposals to operate a limited number of evening dining trains along the line. Starting at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre in Ruddington, they would run south through Rushcliffe Halt and across Stanford Viaduct, before returning north.
Prior to introducing this service, we will be writing to the Secretary of State for Transport to formally request her consent to the operation of a single train, on no more than two evenings a week, finishing no later than 10pm. We would welcome your questions and feedback before we make this request.
We have no plans to reopen the village station at East Leake.
The event will also include information about our current operations and ongoing work to revive the railway. Meet volunteers, find out about joining the team and learn about our plans for Rushcliffe Halt station and progress towards reconnecting with the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire.
